Father Of WWW

Tim Berners-Lee, known as the father of the WWW, invented the World Wide Web in 1989 with Robert Cayo.

He wrote the first web browser in 1990 while working at CERN near Geneva, Switzerland. The browser was released outside CERN to other research institutes starting in January 1991 and then to the general public in August 1991.

The Internet began to enter everyday use in 1993–1994 when websites became available for general use. The World Wide Web has played a central role in the development of the information age and is the primary tool that billions of people use to interact online.

Web resources can be any type of downloaded media, but web pages are hypertext documents formatted in HyperText Markup Language (HTML). Special HTML syntax displays embedded hyperlinks with URLs that allow users to navigate to other web resources.

In addition to text, web pages may contain links to images, video, audio, and software components that are either displayed or executed within the user’s web browser to display pages or media content streams.
